About
Boopers was an interactive scavenger hunt platform utilizing NFC tags, designed for the FWB Fest event in August 2024. Participants searched for four puzzle fragments across the festival grounds using NFC-enabled "booping." Each discovered fragment revealed the next location, and upon completing the set, users could view a personalized AR animation through a specialized lens.
The experience featured fragment NFTs minted on the Base blockchain, along with a side quest collecting randomized eggs with varying point values. A prize pool of 0.5 Base Ethereum was awarded to the highest-scoring team. Each unique NFT was generated using noggles (the iconic Nouns glasses) rendered into smoke simulations as conditioning, then passed into AnimateDiff to create mesmerizing, one-of-a-kind animations. The project combined physical exploration with digital collectibles, creating a hybrid experience that bridged the real and virtual worlds.
Artist's Intention
Boopers explored how playful interaction with technology can transform a physical space into an adventure. By hiding digital treasures in the real world and rewarding discovery with unique AR experiences and blockchain collectibles, the project invited participants to see their surroundings with fresh eyes and engage with strangers in collaborative play.
